Summary

CVE-1999-0721 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting the Windows NT Local Security Authority (LSA). Maliciously crafted LSA requests can cause the LSA to become unresponsive, rendering the system inaccessible. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending malformed LSA requests to the targeted system, causing a denial-of-service condition. This issue was significant due to the widespread use of Windows NT at the time and the potential for easy exploitation. Systems with unpatched LSA components were at risk.
