Summary

CVE-1999-0710 is a vulnerability affecting the Squid package in Red Hat Linux versions 5.2 and 6.0, as well as other distributions. This issue arises due to the installation of the cachemgr.cgi file in a publicly accessible web directory. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by using cachemgr.cgi as an intermediary to establish connections to other systems, posing a significant security risk. This misconfiguration can allow unauthorized remote access and potential data exfiltration. It is recommended that affected systems be updated to a version without this vulnerability or that the cachemgr.cgi file be removed from publicly accessible directories.
