Summary
CVE-1999-0705 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the INN (Internet News Network) inews program. This issue allows an attacker to send specially crafted data to a target system, causing the inews program to write past the end of a buffer. The excess data can overwrite adjacent memory, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution or system crash. Exploitation of this vulnerability could result in unauthorized access, data theft, or denial-of-service attacks. Systems running vulnerable versions of INN should be updated to mitigate this risk.
