Summary

CVE-1999-0651 is an old vulnerability associated with the Remote Shell (rsh) and Remote Login (rlogin) services. If these services are running, an attacker can exploit the weakness to gain unauthorized access to a system, potentially leading to serious security compromises. This issue originated from the lack of encryption during the data transfer between the client and the server, allowing interception and manipulation of user credentials. It is strongly recommended to disable or secure these services to mitigate the risk of exploitation.
