Summary

CVE-1999-0569 is an old vulnerability affecting WWW directories that allow auto-indexing. When a directory does not have an index.html file, a list of all files within that directory becomes publicly accessible through the URL ending with an index.html extension by default. This issue can lead to unintended information disclosure and potential security risks. To mitigate this vulnerability, it is recommended to disable auto-indexing or ensure that index.html files are present in all directories.
