Summary

CVE-1999-0427 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Eudora version 4.1. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending emails with long file name attachments. Upon opening the email, the email client will attempt to process the attachment, resulting in a crash or resource exhaustion, thereby denying service to the user. This can lead to a significant disruption in email communication. It is recommended that users update to the latest version of Eudora or use alternative email clients to mitigate this risk.
