Summary

CVE-1999-0418 denotes a denial-of-service vulnerability targeting SMTP applications, such as Sendmail. An attacker can exploit this issue by overloading the server with numerous "RCPT TO" commands via a single connection. The excessive number of commands results in the server becoming unresponsive or crashing, making it unable to process emails, disrupting email services. The attack can be executed by spammers to flood the server, causing significant disruption.
