Summary

CVE-1999-0412 is a vulnerability affecting Internet Information Services (IIS) and other web servers. If a server is configured to run as the SYSTEM account and loads an ISAPI (Internet Server Application Programming Interface) extension, an attacker can potentially exploit this vulnerability to execute commands with SYSTEM privileges. This could lead to serious security implications, such as unauthorized access, data theft, or system damage. It is strongly recommended that affected servers be updated to patch this vulnerability and that ISAPI extensions only be run with appropriate, less privileged accounts.
