Summary
CVE-1999-0381 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting versions of the super syslog utility, including super 3.11.6. This issue grants local users the ability to exploit the vulnerability and ultimately obtain root access. By sending specially crafted input to the syslog utility, an attacker can trigger the buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code, leading to serious security implications. This vulnerability has the potential to compromise the entire system if exploited successfully.
