Summary
CVE-1999-0288 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 WINS servers before Service Pack 4. Maliciously crafted UDP frames sent to port 137 (NETBIOS Name Service) can cause process termination, leading to a denial-of-service condition. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by flooding the target system with random packets, making the WINS server unavailable for legitimate use.
