Summary
CVE-1999-0226 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Windows NT TCP/IP. The issue lies in the way the software handles fragmented IP packets. An attacker can exploit this flaw by sending malformed packets, causing the TCP/IP process to crash, leading to a denial of service condition. The vulnerability can be mitigated by applying the Microsoft patch MS01-025 released in January 2001.
