Summary
CVE-1999-0225 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Windows NT 4.0. A remote attacker can cause the system to crash by sending a malformed SMB logon request with an incorrect data size. This mismatch between the actual and specified size leads to an unexpected shutdown, resulting in a denial-of-service condition. Exploiting this vulnerability does not grant unauthorized access to the system but simply causes it to become unresponsive, potentially impacting availability for authorized users.
