Summary
CVE-1999-0188 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting the passwd command in Solaris operating systems. An attacker can exploit this flaw by sending a malformed password file to the system, causing the passwd command to enter an infinite loop and consume excessive system resources. As a result, the system may become unresponsive, leading to a denial-of-service condition.
