Summary

CVE-1999-0151 is a vulnerability affecting the SATAN (Security Administrator Tool for Analyzing Networks) tool. This issue arises when the session key used during SATAN scans is not properly protected. If a user accidentally accesses another website while their browser is still active with an ongoing SATAN scan, an attacker on the target site may be able to intercept and obtain the session key. Once obtained, the attacker could potentially gain root access to the affected system. This vulnerability highlights the importance of securely handling session keys during network scanning activities.
