Summary

CVE-1999-0144 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting the Qmail email server. Maliciously crafted RCPT (Recipient) commands with a large number of recipients can be used to overload the server and cause it to become unresponsive, resulting in a denial-of-service condition. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending a large volume of email messages with a large number of recipients in the RCPT command, potentially causing service disruptions for legitimate users. This issue was discovered back in 1999 and has since been mitigated through various security updates. However, it serves as a reminder of the importance of keeping email servers and software up-to-date to protect against known vulnerabilities.
