Summary
CVE-1999-0130 is a vulnerability affecting the Sendmail mail transfer agent. This issue allows local users to initiate Sendmail in daemon mode, thereby gaining root privileges within the system. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted command to the Sendmail service, resulting in unauthorized escalation of privileges. This security flaw poses a significant risk to systems running Sendmail, and administrators are strongly advised to apply the available patches to mitigate it.
