Summary
CVE-1999-0125 denotes a buffer overflow vulnerability discovered in the mailx program of SGI IRIX operating system. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending specially crafted emails, leading to the unintended execution of code and potential system compromise. The vulnerability exists due to the failure to adequately validate user input, permitting the overflow of a buffer beyond its intended boundary. This weakness posed a significant threat to SGI IRIX systems at the time of its discovery.
