Summary
CVE-1999-0081 is a vulnerability affecting the wu-ftp software. This issue allows an attacker to overwrite files on the target system using the rnfr (rename to) command. By manipulating the filename during an in-progress file transfer, an attacker can replace an existing file with a malicious one, potentially gaining unauthorized access or causing data loss. This vulnerability was identified and documented in 1999 and poses a significant risk to systems running outdated or unpatched versions of wu-ftp.
