CVE-1999-0043 is a vulnerability affecting version 1.5 of the InterNetNews (INN) daemon (innd). This issue allows an attacker to execute arbitrary commands by exploiting shell metacharacters in "newgroup" and "rmgroup" control messages, as well as other unspecified messages. Successful exploitation could lead to serious security consequences, including system compromise and data loss.
