Summary

CVE-1999-0035 is a race condition vulnerability affecting the signal handling routine in the ftpd software. This issue permits an attacker to manipulate file read/write access in an unintended manner. An intruder could exploit this vulnerability to gain unauthorized access to sensitive data or modify critical system files. The race condition occurs during the interaction between ftpd processes and the signal handling mechanism, posing a serious threat to FTP servers using the vulnerable version of the software. System administrators are advised to update their ftpd installation to a patched version to mitigate this risk.
