Summary
CVE-1999-0028 is a vulnerability affecting SGI IRIX systems. This issue is caused by a buffer overflow in the login/scheme command, which can be exploited to gain root privileges. An attacker could send specially crafted input to the command, causing it to write beyond the intended buffer boundary and overwrite important system data. This allows the attacker to execute arbitrary code with root privileges, leading to potential security compromise and unauthorized system access.
