Summary

CVE-1999-0026 is a vulnerability affecting SGI IRIX systems. Hackers can exploit a buffer overflow issue in the pset command to gain root privileges. The pset command is used to set process priorities, and the vulnerability occurs when it fails to validate user input, allowing malicious data to overwrite memory and execute arbitrary code with elevated permissions. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in complete system compromise, putting sensitive data and critical systems at risk.
