Summary
CVE-1999-0010 is a Denial of Service vulnerability affecting BIND 8 Releases. Maliciously formatted DNS messages can be used to cause the BIND DNS server to crash, resulting in a denial of service condition. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending specially crafted DNS queries to the affected server. The vulnerability was identified in 1999 and may still pose a risk to unpatched systems. Organizations are advised to update their BIND DNS servers to a patched version to mitigate this threat.
